Response to Gees blog

I believe that I am in a primary discourse, American wise because I was born into an American society, where I am a US citizen. I believe I have the upper advantage in society since I am more familiar with my culture and American customs. My primary discourse comes from my home, neighborhood, and my influences around me. My secondary discourses comes from school, church, and just being at different events and around new people.I wouldn't consider myself in the dominant discourse because i'm not wealthy, im not a dominant piece in the world, and I'm not that successful yet. I also don't consider myself in the dominant course because I haven't reached that level in my life since I'm still young and I don't really have a voice in society yet.I feel that dominant discourses should change in ways of letting people be heard and trying new things, such as a different cultures customs. I believe for people to be in the dominant course you had to have some kind of success and had a big impact in society. Those leaders are people like Barack Obama, Donald Trump, Oprah, and Bill Gates. I look forward to seeing myself as being in the dominant course in the future. I might not be as high as those that I mentioned, but in some shape, way, or form I see myself as playing a big part in society.

Response to death of Michael Jackson from an Angry Black Woman

The speaker of this blog is, The Angry Black Woman. The blogger is speaking to all of those people who don't know how to cope with the loss of Michael Jackson or has a different reaction. The main argument is that you can't hold grudges on someone due to their actions. Also your reaction to a death can be different due to the fact that you have a personal relationship with that person. There will come a time when you look back at their lives see their reasoning for their actions. I learned that everyone reacts different to deaths and sometimes it's not always on a emotional level. When I heard about the death of Michael Jackson I was very shocked and all I could say was "WOW." Just imagine growing up listening to Michael Jackson everyday and spending all your time studying his dance moves.

The Angry Black Woman's relationship with Michael Jackson is similar to my relationship with Chris Paul. 50% of the day I spend studying Paul's crossovers and jump shot. I understand the setback that ABW went through. It's like she had a dream and reminisced about all the things he did that had an affect in her life. The tone of this piece is sad due to diction and comparisons. ABW compared the death of Michael Jackson to that of Ike Turner and R.Kelly. She stated that she wouldn't actually care do to their history and lifestyle. I believe that she would not really care because she didn't really have a close relationship with these guys. It's just like growing up and not knowing your father, and suddenly he dies. You only reaction could be like, "okay." I agree with this piece due to the fact that she felt sad about the death of Michael Jackson because of her personal relationship with him.
